Back Story

Sportscard Research is one of the fastest-growing sports card review websites that compare the most collectable NBA, NFL, and NHL cards for collectors.

My role was to work closely with Michael and the team to identify cards that collectors are interested in learning about, from star players such as Stephen Curry to rising superstars like Ja Morant. The objective was to increase the site's traffic and profit through affiliate links and website adverts.

.

What I Did

Sourced high-value sportscard topics, including top NBA players and leading rookies.

The first step was to chat with Michael and the team to understand what players they wanted to focus on and provide my insight on other players that could be added to our list that would entice readers to click on the site.

It was essential to choose popular players with the fans and any players currently in the news for various reasons, as topical content proved to perform the best.

Wrote engaging, helpful content for consumers that improved brand reputation.

Once we established which player cards we would target, creating content that differentiated the brand from other card websites was essential. Many websites regurgitate the same boring card information, so writing detailed card reviews were necessary and providing unique insights that readers valued.

Published articles and provided detailed reporting on website performance

Once the articles were live on the site, I provided Michael and the team with detailed reports on the overall website's performance and how each individual card article performed. This step allows us to establish where we should focus our resources in the future and where we should step back and save time on other topics.

The Results

From working with Sportscard Research, the brand saw increased website traffic and profits from affiliate links and advertisements.

The results were so significant that Sportscard Research saw record growth for five months, taking website traffic from 4k to 28k.
